The headache…the real headache

All winter I have been plagued with sinus headaches.  The kind that leave everything above your shoulders throbbing and aching.  Almost on a daily basis I’ve had some level of headache when I wake up and on some days I get pummeled again in the afternoon.  I have tried going alcohol free to see if that was a trigger (no, no difference), I tried going caffeine free in the evenings (no, no difference), I’ve tried drinking a lot of water (no, no difference).  It is completely out of my control and lifestyle changes don’t matter.  I already exercise a lot via chasing kids around and keeping my house (while the article regarding women being heavier because they don’t do as much housework was appalling, I do get a crap-ton of exercise keeping my house and chasing my children.)  My vision was just checked and all my contacts and glasses are up to date (and it doesn’t matter if I’m wearing contacts or glasses for the headaches) We don’t use many scented products in our house, and the ones we do use aren’t any different than the ones we’ve been using for years, so I’d be surprised if those mattered…especially since sometimes the headaches show up a bit later in the day.

Generally Sudafed and Advil will take it down a notch, but a few of them lately haven’t even been touched by that.  I’ve tried the “freeze it out” with drinking a Slurpee very quickly.  And although tasty, it didn’t get rid of the headache.  The hot showers aren’t touching them.  Because they’re getting so bad, I think I’m going to have to breakdown and go to the doctor since removing my head isn’t an option.
